LAKEVIEW, AR - The new visitor center at Bull Shoals-White River State Park is preparing to open. Called the James A. Gaston Visitor Center, the facility will have educational exhibits, a view of Bull Shoals Dam and other amenities, including a gift shop.
The center is to hold its grand opening on October 19.
In advance of the opening, the center is seeking volunteers to train to conduct tours, usher guests and perform other duties.
The 19,000-square-foot center costs about $4 million to build. It is located on the Marion County side of the dam.
