KENNETT, MO - Two suspects have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery last night in Kennett.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., Kennett police were dispatched to the Sonic Drive-In on First Street, responding to an armed robbery with shots fired.  No one was injured in the hold-up, but a suspect made away on foot with an undetermined amount of cash before then getting into a vehicle that picked him up a short distance away.

That vehicle was later stopped a searched by Kennett police, and a 9-milimeter handgun was found inside the vehicle.  The driver of the car was also arrested.

Subsequent investigation led authorities to Caruthersville residence, where a second suspect was arrested.  At least one of the suspects reportedly confessed to the crime, and police say they have also linked the suspects to a robbery that occured at the Dollar Tree store in Kennett on September 11.
