WYNNE, AR - The city of Wynne will host an event honoring the state's "post 9-11 fallen heroes" on October 21.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. at the Wynne Sports Complex.  Meanwhile, the 2nd Annual Marine Lance Corporal Brian C. Hopper Memorial motorcycle run will leave the sports complex at 11 a.m. and travel south on Arkansas 1 through Wynne, Colt, Caldwell, Forrest City and other communities.  Hopper was killed in action last year in Iraq.

Several other activities are planned for the day, including the collection of items that can be sent to U.S. troops currently serving in the Middle East, in Hopper's memory.

All proceeds raised from the day's activities will be used for postage to mail items to Iraq, as well as the building of a Fallen Hero Memorial Park in Cross County.
