CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO - A southeast Missouri Democrat running for the Missouri House says allowing teachers to carry guns could be a way to prevent school violence.

Matt Hill is challenging Republican incumbent Nathan Cooper of Cape Girardeau.  Hill said at a candidates' forum that he believes anyone who's qualified to carry a gun could be allowed to take it anywhere, "including a school."  Cooper said guns in the classroom would make matters worse.
