State Fair Opens Today in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Arkansas State Fair opens its doors at noon Friday and runs through October 22.  Here's a quick look at the festivities:

-RIDES: Deggeller Attractions, which runs the carnival rides, will have a new merry-go-round and the "Extreme Scream" ride.

-ROCK: David Lee Roth, formerly of Van Halen, plays at 8 p.m. October 20.

-RODEOS: The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association will hold rodeos beginning at 7:30 p.m. next Thursday and on October 20 and 21.  There will be an afternoon rodeo at 1:30 p.m. October 21.

-FAIR COST: $7 for adults, $4 for children and seniors, children under 6 free.  Parking is $5.

-FAIR HOURS: Carnival vendors and concessions open at noon daily, except Saturdays when they open at 10 a.m.

    According to Sgt. Jamie White of the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, authorities there are investigating a shooting in which a woman was killed.
