Pryor Released from UAMS Following Heart Surgery

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Former U.S. Senator David Pryor has been released from a hospital to continue his recovery from heart bypass surgery.

Doctors at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences performed quadruple bypass surgery on the 72-year-old statesman on October 11.  He was released from the hospital Tuesday.

Pryor, who lives in Little Rock, served three terms in the Senate and two terms as Arkansas governor.  His son, Mark, is currently a U.S. senator.
