JONESBORO, AR - Arkansas Attorney General and Democratic nominee for Governor Mike Beebe is barnstorming through northeast Arkansas and Region 8 this morning as a tour to promote early voting across the state.

Beebe will address supporters in Jonesboro and West Memphis this morning before swinging south to hometown of Searcy to cast his own early vote at the White County Courthouse.

At this hour, Beebe is addressing supporters at a 'Get Out the Vote' rally at the Victory 2006 Headquarters in downtown Jonesboro.  At 8:30, he'll address supporters in Crittenden County at another rally in West Memphis.  Beebe and his wife, Ginger, will vote early in Searcy at 10:15.

Meanwhile, election officials in Greene County said turnout for the first day of early voting in Paragould was heavy today.  In Jonesboro, Craighead County election officials described today's turnout as moderate to heavy.
