BLYTHEVILLE, AR - The Blytheville Police Department was contacted by a local resident yesterday advising that she was the victim of a theft where an unidentified light-skinned black female tricked her out of approximately $700.
The victim told police that she had been approached by the suspect at a local bank where the suspect told her she needed help because she could not read or write, and in turn would double the victim's money if she would help her. The victim withdrew $700 in cash and placed the money in a bag with what appeared to be money from the suspect. Both women got in a car and went to another location where a "well-dressed black male approached them and became involved in the theft and further distracted the victim." Police say this kind of scam is referred to as a "pigeon drop."
