JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - The star-studded campaign over a stem cell ballot measure is mixing with Missouri's Senate race.
That's raising the possibility that the ballot measure might influence the outcome of the contest between Republican Senator Jim Talent and Democratic State Auditor Claire McCaskill.
McCaskill's stem cell ad feature ailing actor Michael J. Fox has attracted a lot of attention.
A group opposing the ballot initiative is airing its own ad with five celebrities -- including former Rams Super Bowl quarterback Kurt Warner and Cardinals pitcher Jeff Suppan.
Political scientists say the stem cell initiative is energizing some voters. But they are leery of directly linking it to the Senate race.
