Jo Ann Emerson to be Honored by Farm Bureau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO - Long known as an advocate for agriculture in the U.S. Congress, southeast Missouri U.S. Representative Jo Ann Emerson will be honored by the Missouri Farm Bureau on Monday in her hometown of Cape Girardeau.

Emerson will be presented with the "Friend of Farm Bureau Award," which is given only to members of Congress "who are extremely supportive of family farmers.  Missouri Farm Bureau President and Arkansas State University graduate Charles Kruse will present the award to Emerson Monday morning at 10:30 at the Drury Lodge.

Emerson, a Republican, represents Missouri's 8th District in Congress.
