LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Transferring course credits from one college to another should become easier beginning December 1, if the move is made between two Arkansas schools. Under a new state law, the Arkansas Department of Higher Education developed the Arkansas Course Transfer System among 22 public colleges and 11 public universities. The system amounts to a single statewide course-transfer agreement.
Educators and administrators came up with a database of 88 core courses that meet their standards. The department is developing a Web site that will allow students, parents, faculty and administrators to access information about course requirements and compare courses at different institutions to see if credits transfer.
