LITTLE ROCK, AR - Former President Clinton plans to make a return campaign stop for Democrats in his home state of Arkansas before the November 7 election. A spokesman in Clinton's New York office says the date has not yet been finalized.
Clinton's visit would be the second to help Democrats in Arkansas hoping to regain control of the governor's office that Republican Mike Huckabee has occupied since 1996. Huckabee is term limited and leaves office in January.
In September, Clinton helped raise $600,000 for attorney general Mike Beebe's gubernatorial campaign. He also helped raise $400,000 for the state party's coordinated campaign.
Beebe is running against Republican Asa Hutchinson, a former congressman who served as one of the House managers in Clinton's impeachment case.
