Missing Hunter Found Dead in Northwest Arkansas

NOVEMBER 1, 2006 - Posted at 7:47 a.m. CST

BENTONVILLE, AR - Authorities say that a missing hunter found dead after a short search by police apparently died of natural causes.

Kenneth Green, 65, of Springdale, was found Sunday lying in an open field close to a wood line north of Pea Ridge National Military Park.  He had gone squirrel hunting with a friend earlier that morning.  The friend called the Benton County Sheriff's Office after being unable to find Green.

Officials say that early indications show Green died of natural causes.  Blood samples from his body will be sent to the Arkansas Crime Laboratory as part of the investigation.
