Jonesboro, AR -- Brandi Hodges Reports

Showcase of Homes

November 3, 2006 -- Posted at 5:15 p.m. CDT

JONESBORO, AR -- If you're looking to see the best of what Jonesboro has to offer in terms of newly constructed homes, we have a one stop shop you need to visit.

The Northeast Arkansas Home Builders Association is hosting a showcase of homes in southwest Jonesboro.

"There are six individual builders who have built these homes.  They're not just speck homes, the builders have revved it up several notches," said Don Culpepper, of the NEA Homebuilders Association.

This is giving builders in Jonesboro the opportunity to show off what they can do.

"It's an opportunity to participate with other builders in a group effort," said home builder James Crawford.

All of the builders are on hand to answer any questions, and all of the homes are for sale.  In addition to being able to purchase the homes you can also purchase any of the furnishings inside the homes.

While some who are coming to tour the homes are looking to either buy or build a new home, others are looking to remodel their existing home.

"We're working on our home and we thought if we came to the Showcase of Homes we might get some good ideas," said Thomas Yancey.

The homes are fully finished and fully furnished, all in the latest building trends.

"I think it brings the house up to date.  Our house is about 25-years-old and we've been working one room at the time," said Yancey.

For those building or remodeling a home there are different companies on hand to show off the latest in insulation, doors, and flooring.

The Showcase of Homes is open from 9 a.m. 6 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The Showcase of Homes is open on November 3rd-6th, and November 10th-12th.

Tickets are $8 at the door and $7 in advance.
