Arkansans Approve $250 Million Higher Education Bond

LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Arkansas voters approved a $250 million dollar bond package for colleges and universities. The measure faced no organized opposition.

B. Alan Sugg, president of the University of Arkansas System, it is clear the better educated Arkansans are, the stronger the state's economic development will be. He says the bond package will ensure that academic facilities are in top shape and that Arkansas colleges and universities have cutting edge technology.

The package failed last year after being placed on the ballot with an unpopular bond proposal to benefit highways.
