Jonesboro, AR -- Jonesboro High School Band is 1 in 15 bands in the nation to be chosen to play in Hawaii. They will honor Pearl Harbor Survivors in a Memorial Concert with medleys they have diligently been working on.

"The pieces are very patriotic, and we've been working so hard. We want this to be great because we are proud to be part of something so wonderful."

Andie Duplanits is a Senior at JHS and says they first heard about the trip two years ago, and ever since they have been raising money with all sorts of fundraisers.

"We've sold boston butts, poinsettas, anything you can think of we've pretty much done it. If it wasn't for the community we wouldn't be able to go, Thank you!"

Other students wanted to thank the community and their parents for helping them raise the money.

"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and without the community and everyone opening their hearts and their wallets basically, we wouldn't have been able to go."
