LITTLE ROCK (AP) - One of the newest members of the Southern Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame is from Arkansas. Gerald Williams -- originally from Searcy and now living at Little Rock -- has been a part of the Melody Boys Quartet since 1949. He was only 16 when he was asked to join the group.

He has gone from being the youngest full-time traveling bass singer to being the oldest. The group has 175 tour dates a year, and will have a concert in Sylvan Hills in December.

Williams says being part of the Hall of Fame is a dream come true. The induction ceremony took place at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
