LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Arkansas Board of Education has reviewed the recovery plans of a dozen schools that are on probation for academic reasons. Schools can be placed on probation for academic reasons. Schools can be placed on probation for reasons such as not offering courses required by the state or by having uncertified instructors teaching courses.
The following Region 8 schools are on probation for failing to meet accreditation requirements during the past two years:
-Earle Elementary School, music and library media.
-Dunbar Middle School in the Earle District, art and music.
-Earle High School, journalism, vocal music and physical education.
-McCrory High School, teacher certification.
Eight other schools around the state are also being investigated.
The Education Board approved the state's recommendations to monitor the schools and to follow certain action plans, primarily focused on course offerings and licensing of teachers.
