DEXTER, MO - A 13-year-old male juvenile has been arrested in Stoddard County on charges of 1st degree murder and armed criminal action.

Sheriff Carl Hefner says the charges were filed yesterday as the result of the shooting death of a 64-year-old Dexter man identified as Don McCollough.  Chief Juvenile Officer Mike Davis is requesting that a Certification as an Adult Hearing be held concerning the suspect.

Hefner is not commenting on a possible motive for the shooting.  He did say that the victim worked for a Dexter construction company, and was known for his long white beard, which came down to the middle of his chest.

No other details are available at this time.
