ROGERS, AR - Governor Huckabee says he is in no hurry to announce whether he will run for president.
Fellow Republicans, Senator John McCain of Arizona and former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, have formed exploratory committees to help raise money and decide on whether to run for the nation's highest office.
Huckabee says he's sticking by his decision to not announce any plans until after he leaves office on January 9. Huckabee says declaring early puts restrictions on fundraising.
The governor is to hold a December 16 fundraiser for his "Hope for America" political action committee. He also has another book coming out, "From Hope to Higher Ground." Huckabee uses the book to express his views on national issues.
Huckabee says the race for president is wide open.
