PINE BLUFF, AR - Forty-two new laptop computers are missing from a Dept. of Correction storage closet in Pine Bluff.

State Police are investigating the theft but won't comment on whether any of the computers have been recovered.  The machines have a total value of $59,000.

Prisons spokeswoman Dina Tyler says the laptops were noticed gone on October 6, and they were last seen on August 23.  The computers were to be used to input inmate medical information.

Tyler says she doesn't know if it was employees or inmates behind the theft.
