This week we are looking for a husband and wife team of con-artists, Timothy Carpenter and his wife Lucie Carpenter. Police say they are scamming businesses all over Region 8 using 'T-checks'. T-checks are commonly used by truckers. Police say their scam involves writing these 'authentic' T-checks for hundreds of dollars over the amount owed. In order for the check to be cashed, the retailer has to call a 1-800 number.
What happens next police say is Timothy calls Lucie, or vice-versa and they hand the phone to the clerk saying it's the operator at the 1-800 number. The voice on the line says the check is good and wallah! They've got their money.
Tell police where to find the Carpenters, Timothy and Lucie and it's worth cash! Call Crimestoppers right now, 935-STOP to get your tip number. Your calls are anonymous.
