Black Friday Successful for Region 8 Shoppers

JONESBORO, AR-- Shoppers around Region 8 began lining up Friday morning well before the crack of dawn.  Shoppers at Target began lining up at 4 a.m. for the six o'clock opening.

"We definitely got good deals.  We saved about half price on the Game Boy, and we probably saved about $300 by getting up early," said David Williams.

The doors opened to the hundreds of shoppers who were lined up ready to get their Christmas presents for bargain prices.

Electronics are one of the hot ticket items.  Many shoppers snatched up TV's, Game Boys, and DVD players.

"The beginning of shopping season is very good.  We've sold out of several things.  We've been replenishing stuff to try to keep the flow going," said Circuit City Manager Anna Prado.

You almost have to get yourself pumped up for the day after Thanksgiving sales.  With hundreds of other shoppers standing between you and what you want the competition can be fierce.

On "Black Friday" you can find a good deal just about anywhere but inside Target the most sought after item was a shopping cart.

"You can't get the baskets at the back of the store.  We went and tried to get our stuff and I thought I'd come up and get a basket but there aren't any baskets," said shopper Stacy Brown.
