It's the Most Wonderful Time Of the Year- In Branson!

November 27, 2006 --  Posted at 7:00 a.m. CST

Branson, MO -- There's nothing better than spending the holidays with family and friends, right? Well, it could be better if you are in Branson!

Branson has been a hot spot for years with live entertainment, great food, and great fun. But it's even more wonderful during the holiday season. Bright lights line the streets and music fills the air, and the spirit of Christmas surrounds you.

Ken Lattimore, a performer at Shepherd of The Hills, tells us that Branson is a great place, and especially at Christmas time.

"Here there is something for everyone. And its quality entertainment and wholesome shows that you don't have to be embarrassed to take your kid and grandkids to."

And all of the performers and entertainers in Branson feel that way and say that's what brings back folks every year.

"It's great up here, we come back year after year because it's just a good feel of community down here, just people coming together to enjoy themselves."

Many of the traditional shows have started up their Christmas themes, and it's some great holiday entertainment. Like Shoji Tabuchi, a long-time favorite in Branson, has a combination of singing, dancing, and high-flying entertainment, that you will just have to check out for yourself.

This year the Grand Palace is hosting Mannheim Steamroller, where you'll have a more than unique musical experience.

Along with the shows Branson is the home to great outlet malls, places where you can find a gift for anyone and for a great price.

And it's a growing city. New attractions, entertainment, and restaurants and resorts line Hwy. 76 and there's truly something for everyone.

My favorite, Silver Dollar City. Going during the holidays is one of the best times all year to be there. They start their Old Time Christmas, which is full of shows like A Christmas Carol, stores full of dazzling ornaments, decorations with over 400,000 lights, and let's not forget there are no lines at the rides!

But of course Branson is known for its great shopping, and something new this year is the Branson Landing. It's like taking a walk down a bustling city street full of people, music, decorations, and trolleys. Over 100 stores and restaurants to choose from, and the best part...the fountains. Water shooting up into the air with music and lights. At night, it's a must see.

This time of year you really don't think about taking a cruise, but you can't miss the Holiday Spectacular show aboard the Branson Belle. Singing, dancing, music, dinner, and a comedy act that will have you wagging your tail.

Talking Dogs...that's right talking dogs. Ventriliquist Todd Oliver and his friends Irving, Lucy, and Elvis have been working hard to make you laugh hard. After dinner, Todd and his friends come out to talk about what it's like to be a dog, especially a talking dog. And if you're lucky, you could be picked to be part of the show. So get a ticket and set sail on the Branson Belle...All Aboard!
