JONESBORO, AR -- Region 8 shoppers just survived Black Friday and on Monday many sat down at work and were back shopping again.
This year November 27th is known as "Cyber Monday" and is one of the busiest on-line shopping day of the year...but how do you know your identity is safe? And are the bargains really better?
"I am a December 24th person," said Felicia Johnson, "I run in and try to get it and come out and we are just now starting."
Johnson is "that" shopper...the last-minute lady buying any and everything she can get her hands on.
"If I start early then I think maybe she won't like it, but if I go and get it then, I'm like shoot, she's gotta like it," laughed Johnson.
This year Johnson is doing some of her shopping on-line...but she's being cautious.
"I try to be very careful. I also try to only use companies that are local. That I know I can drive somewhere in Jonesboro, Memphis or Little Rock or return an item if I need to. But so far I have not had any problems with any credit card statements, any bank card statements or anything like that. So as long as that is kept to a minimum, I'm ok," said Johnson.
And as for fighting the crowds and making it to the store before they close on Christmas Eve...Johnson knows what she wants and what she needs.
"When I sit down at the computer, I know that this is something that I actually want. I'm going to have to wait on it and if it doesn't work, when it gets here I'm going to have to go through all the rigmarole of taking it back. So I eliminate the we can go to the store, buy it, take it home, try it and then take it back. Only when I sit down and buy something I know, I want this and it's going to work," said Johnson as she happily surfed away.
