Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony Set for Thursday in Downtown Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR - The Craighead County Veterans Monument Foundation will conduct a brief Pearl Harbor remembrance ceremony Thursday morning in downtown Jonesboro.

Tomorrow will mark the 65th anniversary of the Japanese attack on American forces at Pearl Harbor, plunging the U.S. into World War II.  Nearly 5,000 Craighead County residents served their country in WWII.

Thursday morning's ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Craighead County Veterans Monument.  WWII veteran Max Alexander (U.S.M.C.) will serve as the event's master of ceremonies.  Lt. Colonel Ed Tanner (U.S.A.F.) will deliver keynote remarks.
