LITTLE ROCK, AR - Governor Huckabee says he wants to make sure he has the financial and organizational support in place before announcing any potential presidential bid.

The outgoing Republican governor is considering running for president in 2008.  Speaking to listeners of his monthly call-in radio show, Huckabee said support in states like Iowa and New Hampshire would be essential in making the decision.

The governor also says his new book will help weigh support for him.  The book, "From Hope to Higher Ground: 12 STOPS to Restoring America's Greatness," will be released January 4 through publisher Center Street.  He'll begin a promotional tour shortly afterward.
