SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Five people are hospitalized today after a tour bus carrying about 50 elderly people drove into a highway median near Springfield.

Passengers say a church group from Maywood Baptist Church in Independence was on its way to Branson when it stopped for lunch.

After getting back on the road, the bus driver became sick and slumped over the wheel. The bus drove into the median of U.S. Highway 65 before the driver and a passenger managed to pull it back onto the road.

Springfield police say none of the injuries was serious. The other passengers were jostled around but were unharmed.

The remaining passengers were shuttled to a Springfield hospital to stay warm while the tour company sent another bus.
