Residents in Region 8 Hit the Stores

JONESBORO, AR -- Shoppers packed the parking lot at The Mall at Turtle Creek Saturday all looking to finish their holiday shopping.

There are only eight shopping days left until Christmas and shoppers are taking advantage of each and every one of them.

"It's getting more crowded by the minute.  We got here at nine and its wall to wall now," said," Lori Dulaney.

"It's pretty crazy.  It's very, very busy," said Sandy Ward.

The closer we get to Christmas, the more shoppers are hitting the stores.

"I'm shopping for clothes for my family and other presents," said Chaan Choppala.

Cash registers at the mall are busy as shoppers check friends and relatives off of their Christmas lists.

"I bought clothes, lotion, and baby clothes.  I just got things like that for the family," said Ward.

With Christmas just a little over a week away finding that special something is more difficult.

"I haven't even started yet," said Choppala.

While there are some who are just now getting their Christmas shopping underway, there are many others who started earlier in the season and are now completely finished.

"I started shopping the first week in November and now I'm done," said Ward.

Many shoppers are just trying to pick gifts up when they can.

"I'm 80% finished.  I have little things to get probably four or five," said Dulaney.
