PETA Gets Involved in Crittenden County Animal Abuse Case

MARION, AR - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals today sent an urgent plea to Crittenden County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Fred Thorne, urging him to "appropriately prosecute" Vaughn and Joanie Hutton of Marion.  The Huttons face charges of cruelty to animals and endangering the welfare of a minor, stemming from the December 18 discovery by authorities of up to 39 dogs who were reportedly suffering from severe neglect on property owned by the Huttons.

Because the Huttons may be "animal hoarders"...people who obsessively accumulate and neglect animals, PETA is requesting that, if convicted, they be prohibited from owning or harboring animals and required to undergo thorough psychological evaluations, followed by counseling.
