LITTLE ROCK, AR - House Speaker Benny Petrus says he is working on a proposal that would apply $20 million toward promoting and developing alternative fuels.

Petrus made the announcement after a legislative panel discussed alternative fuels and farming issues with Agriculture Secretary Richard Bell.

Petrus, a Stuttgart Democrat, says he hasn't yet drafted the bill but says $16 million would go toward incentives and the rest for research and for weatherization of low-income housing.
