JONESBORO, AR - An Arkansas State University student has pleaded guilty to three counts related to an accusation he operated a tattooing business out of his dormitory room.

Preston Burt, 19, entered the pleas Monday in Craighead County District Court.  Officials say Burt was fined $750 and ordered to perform 40 hours of community service after he pleaded to counts that he violated city and state licensing regulations.

Burt was also placed on six months probation.

He was charged December 11 after two students reported becoming ill after receiving tattoos.

Police say Burt tattooed more than 100 students.
