LITTLE ROCK (AP) - The Arkansas House is expected to vote today on the first bill of the legislative session.
Yesterday, the Joint Budget Committee recommended passage of a bill to appropriate salaries to the state constitutional officers, legislators and judges. The bill, commonly known as the general appropriation bill, is required to be the first bill taken up by the Legislature.
Senator Shawn Womack, a Mountain Home Republican, says the bill will go the House floor for a vote today and will likely go to the Senate next week.
