LITTLE ROCK - Governor Beebe says an $8 million increase that he has proposed in state turnback funding for cities and counties is by no means a limit on the help Arkansas can provide to local governments.
Beebe spoke yesterday at Little Rock to the Arkansas Municipal League, whose members are cities around the state.
Beebe cautioned his audience that getting greedy could endanger the boost he is recommending. Beebe pointed out to the Arkansas Municipal League that his proposal for $4 million apiece in additional turnback funds for cities and counties would be the first increase they've seen in years.
But they said they needed more.
