.DAY ONE...REST OF TODAY AND TONIGHT

A WINTER STORM IN THE SOUTHWEST UNITED STATES CONTINUES TO SLOWLY
MOVE TO THE NORTHEAST AND SHOULD BE LOCATED IN SOUTHERN IOWA BY
SUNDAY MORNING.

PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE MOVING ACROSS THE STATE FROM THE
SOUTHWEST THROUGH TONIGHT. WITH DRY AIR IN PLACE...EVAPORATION WILL
TEND TO COOL THE ATMOSPHERE...WITH SLEET LIKELY AT THE AT THE ONSET
OF THE PRECIPITATION. SOME SNOW MAY EVEN DEVELOP BRIEFLY TOWARD THE
MISSOURI BORDER. ONLY RAIN IS FORECAST ACROSS THE SOUTH.

BY LATE THIS EVENING...THE ATMOSPHERE WILL BE SATURATED WITH RAIN IN
MOST AREAS AND LESSER CHANCES FOR SLEET. ACROSS NORTHERN
ARKANSAS...TEMPERATURES WILL SLOWLY FALL BELOW FREEZING OVERNIGHT...
WITH SOME ICING OCCURRING.

THE ICING COULD BE SIGNIFICANT...ESPECIALLY IN AREAS NEAR THE
MISSOURI BORDER FROM HARRISON AND JASPER TO YELLVILLE...
MARSHALL...MOUNTAIN HOME AND SALEM. FARTHER SOUTH TOWARD
CLARKSVILLE...CLINTON AND BATESVILLE...THERE MAY BE SOME ICING...
BUT IT SHOULD BE MINIMAL.

PEOPLE ACROSS THE NORTH SHOULD CONTINUE MONITORING THE LATEST
FORECAST AND SHOULD PLAN FOR POSSIBLE ICING TONIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

ONCE THE STORM SYSTEM EXITS THE REGION EARLY SUNDAY...THE REMAINDER
OF THE PERIOD LOOKS TO BE DRY ALBEIT ON THE COOL SIDE. SEVERAL COLD
FRONTS ARE FORECAST TO MOVE THROUGH THE AREA AND OTHER THAN A STRAY
FLURRY OR TWO ACROSS THE NORTH...NO PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED. THE
COLD FRONTS WILL REINFORCE THE COOL AIR IN PLACE WITH TEMPERATURES
FORECAST TO REMAIN BELOW NORMAL THROUGH THE PERIOD.
