WALNUT RIDGE, AR - Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge has acquired a large industrial building and more than six acres of land adjoining the school's campus.  College officials say the property was acquired through a special offer from the MMR Cooperation.

"In technical terms this is a purchase, but it is actually a very generous gift to the college," said Williams President Jerol Swaim.  "MMR Corporation made this property available to us for a fraction of its appraised value, and we are extremely grateful to receive it."

The building houses the Robert Bosch Tool Corporation's National Reconditioning Center, and Swaim noted that the factory will be unaffected by the change in the property's ownership.

The property consists of a 76,000-square foot building on approximately 6.5 acres of land at the east end of Fulbright Avenue.  The WBC campus borders the property on two sides.

Williams is a private, four-year liberal arts college.
