LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Senator Mark Pryor says Congress needs to press the Transportation Security Administration to ensure air travel in the U.S. is the safest in the world.

Pryor, who is a Democrat and a member of the Senate Commerce Committee, says the TSA received an average grade of a D-plus from the Nine-Eleven Commission on its plans and progress on implementing the commission's recommendations for improving aviation security.

Pryor says the committee will press the agency to improve airport security, air cargo security and screen for explosives, and identify people who may pose a risk.
