Huckabee Looking More Like Presidential Candidate

JANUARY 18, 2007 - Posted at 11:31 a.m. CST

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The political action committee formed by former Governor Huckabee raised about $500,000 in the last quarter of 2006.

Huckabee's Hope for America PAC's biggest donors were real estate investor Jim Lindsey of Fayetteville and investment house Stephens Group of Little Rock.  Each gave $100,000.

Huckabee, a Republican, says he is considering a run for president but he has not formed an exploratory committee, which would face federal contribution limits.

Huckabee spokeswoman Kirsten Fedewa says Huckabee visited 30 states during the 2006 election cycle on behalf of Republican candidates and causes.  The PAC had contributions of $513,631 for the quarter and expenses of $231,094.  Fedewa says most of the spending was for travel.
