Bogus Solicitor Making Calls to Bootheel

CARDWELL, MO - The superintendent of the Southland (C-9) School District in southeast Missouri says someone is making calls to residents and businesses in the community soliciting money to buy new uniforms for the school's football team.  The problem with that is, Southland doesn't have a football program, and never has.  Nor are there any plans to start one at this time.

Superintendent Raymond Lasley says wants to inform the public about the bogus solicitors, which he says are apparently operating out of Iowa, according to police.
