LITTLE ROCK, AR - The House and Senate Education Committee has approved an educational adequacy report that was formally presented this morning. With the vote, the report is released to the rest of the Legislature and the public.
State Senator Shane Broadway, a Bryant Democrat, says the report will give legislators a starting point in addressing any changes that will be made to the formula for funding state public schools.
Senate President pro-tem Jack Critcher says school facilities needs likely emerge as a key point in school funding.
Governor Beebe says he expects a portion of the state's $843 million surplus will go toward school facilities.
