SIKESTON, MO - Four fire departments based in southeast Missouri have returned to their home bases after sending equipment and manpower to the Springfield area in southwest Missouri, which has been hit hard this month by at least two ice storms.

Fire engines and crews from Kennett, Sikeston, Cape Girardeau and Bloomfield were sent to lend assistance to fire departments in the Springfield area.  The SeMo-based crews were dispatched to a number of calls while in the Springfield region, including at least one structure fire and several carbon monoxide emergencies.
