THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LITTLE ROCK HAS ISSUED A SNOW
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM CST
THURSDAY.

LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP ACROSS NORTHERN ARKANSAS THIS
EVENING AND CONTINUE OVERNIGHT. SNOW ACCUMULATION OF UP TO AN INCH
WILL BE POSSIBLE.

THE MAIN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO AFFECT THE STATE
ON THURSDAY...BRINGING ANOTHER ROUND OF SNOW TO NORTH ARKANSAS. UP
TO ANOTHER INCH OF SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE ON THURSDAY.

ROADS IN THE ADVISORY AREA WILL BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS DUE TO
SNOW ACCUMULATION TONIGHT AND THURSDAY...ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES AND
OVERPASSES. MOTORISTS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION IF TRAVELING ACROSS
NORTHERN ARKANSAS TONIGHT AND THURSDAY.

A SNOW ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY
TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND
LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.

.DAY ONE...THROUGH TONIGHT

A STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE OVER ARKANSAS TONIGHT FROM THE SOUTHWEST.
WITH COLD AIR ALREADY IN PLACE OVER THE STATE...WINTER WEATHER WILL
OCCUR IN PORTIONS OF ARKANSAS.

WITH THE COLDEST AIR OVER NORTHERN ARKANSAS...SNOW...POSSIBLY MIXED
WITH SLEET WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. TOTAL SNOWFALL
ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE 1 TO 2 INCH RANGE IN AREAS
NORTH OF A RUSSELLVILLE TO SEARCY LINE.

IN AREAS TO THE SOUTH OF THIS LINE...AND NORTH OF A GLENWOOD TO
STUTTGART LINE...A MIXTURE OF WINTER PRECIPITATION WILL OCCUR. THIS
INCLUDES THE LITTLE ROCK...HOT SPRINGS AND CONWAY AREAS.
PRECIPITATION WILL BE A MIXTURE OF SNOW AND SLEET. AS MIDNIGHT
APPROACHES...A LAYER OF WARMER AIR ALOFT WILL MOVE OVER THE
REGION...ALLOWING SOME FREEZING RAIN TO DEVELOP. A FREEZING RAIN AND
SLEET MIXTURE WILL CONTINUE THROUGH SUNRISE. ICE ACCUMULATIONS COULD
REACH A TENTH OF AN INCH.

IN SOUTHERN ARKANSAS...INCLUDING THE AREAS NEAR PINE BLUFF...
ARKADELPHIA...FORDYCE AND MONTICELLO...PRECIPITATION WILL OCCUR AS
RAIN MIXED WITH SLEET. THIS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE EARLY EVENING
HOURS...BEFORE TEMPERATURES ALOFT WARM AND THE PRECIPITATION CHANGES
OVER TO ALL RAIN. RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.

CONTINUE OVER SOUTHERN ARKANSAS...WITH A MIXTURE OF FREEZING
RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW OVER THE CENTRAL THIRD OF THE STATE CHANGING
TO RAIN. NORTHERN ARKANSAS WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE SNOW.

AS THE STORM SYSTEM MOVES EAST THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY
MORNING...PRECIPITATION WILL GRADUALLY DISSIPATE...WITH SNOW
FLURRIES POSSIBLE ACROSS MUCH OF THE STATE. HOWEVER...LITTLE TO NO
ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED.

DRY WEATHER WILL RETURN FRIDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND...AS CANADIAN
HIGH PRESSURE BRINGS COLD AIR TO THE STATE.
