CALICO ROCK, AR - Hamburger Helper is lending a helping hand to one Region 8 community.

Calico Rock, in Izard County, has been awarded a $5,000 'My Hometown Helper' grant from General Mills, Hamburger Helper's parent company.

The funds are to be used to help renovate the town's main street community by adding solar-powered street lights, new park benches, banners and seasonal flowers.

The Calico Rock Organization for Revitalization Effort (CORE), comprised of citizens, business owners and civic organizations, came together to spruce up the community and welcome tourists that travel to Calico Rock to fish on the White River.  CORE is also local artists to share and exhibit their work to attract residents and visitors.
