Your Future Face if You Smoke

Your Future Face if You Smoke

Jonesboro, AR -- Some say a picture is worth a thousand words, but when 5 teens from Jonesboro High School saw their "after" face, they were almost speechless.

We asked 5 students to participate in our story, to let others know the drastic effects smoking can have on your appearance.

We obtained a temporary lisence from Aprilage Development Inc. to use their Aprilage Progression Software. Here's how the program works. The pictures of the students were put into the computer and the software was applied. We then added the smoking feature and watched as their faces changed.

The software allows you to see what your face would look like if you smoked a pack of cigarettes a day. These teens said they already knew the effects of smoking, but seeing was believing.

"I thought it would change a little bit, but after I saw the software, I thought it was crazy." Molly Emerson described the change in her face to be 'gross' and 'ugly'. Molly has attended dance camps, and knows that some girls will do anything to be thin and be perfect in that moment of tryouts.

"Many girls will smoke because it makes you lose weight. They aren't thinking of the effects it has on you. It's just that moment, that one chance to be great. They defiantly aren't thinking about getting addicted and what their face will look like years later."

After seeing his face, Mark Gibson laughed.

"That' lips...they're grotesc that's the only way to describe them. I look terrible."

All the students agreed the most drastic change was Jose Valdez's face.

"Oh man! that me? Wow!! My skin is like, awful!"

The computer program helped them realize what the consequences are on your appearances if you smoke. And it's a valuable lesson they hope to share with their peers.

"To see myself like that it was horrible, just awful!" Trezere Calloway stated and Jose Valdez agreed.

"I will never start smoking. I will tell my friends you will look bad if you are smoking."

Aprilage Development Inc. is a company out of Canada. They hope to have this software on their website early this year. Click here for a link to their website.

But not everyone can afford this software. We would like to provide you with a few links to other websites that have information on smoking and its effects.
