AG Files Lawsuit over Ice Storm Price Gouging

SPRINGFIELD, MO - The state attorney general's office has filed a first round of price gouging lawsuits, stemming from last month's ice storm in southwest Missouri.

Attorney General Jay Nixon says lawsuits have been filed against a hardware store in Monett, a gas station near Buffalo, two motels in Springfield and a hardware and equipment store in Willard.

And Nixon says more lawsuits are coming.

The lawsuits seek restitution for consumers who Nixon says paid exorbitant prices for generators, kerosene, fuel and lodging after the storms hit.

The attorney general says settlements have already been reached with a motel in St. Robert and a gas station in Lebanon.
