4-Year-Old Girl Killed in Hit & Run at Springdale

FEBRUARY 19, 2007 - Posted at 7:47 a.m. CST

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) - Springdale police say a four-year-old girl is dead after she lay face-down on a skateboard, rode it down a driveway into a street and was struck by a car whose driver then sped away.

The name of the girl killed in the accident yesterday afternoon was not released immediately by Springdale officers.

Police said the girl was hit by a black mid- to late-model 1990s Honda Accord about three-30 p-m. A news release described the car as a ``low-rider'' style vehicle with chrome wheels. The driver was described as a white man in his mid-20s with black, spiked hair and a mustache.
