Conviction Upheld In Digital Information Theft

LITTLE ROCK

- A federal appeals court has upheld the

conviction and eight-year prison sentence of a man accused of

stealing one-point-six billion consumer records from Little

Rock-based Acxiom Corporation.

The Eighth U-S Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis turned away
an appeal by Scott Levine, a Florida man who owned Snipermail
Incorporated -- a company that distributed Internet ads to e-mail
addresses.

Levine was convicted in a 2005 trial in U-S District Court in
Little Rock.
