LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department has completed an environmental study for a new freeway that would link Interstate 430 near Maumelle to Interstate 440 near Jacksonville. The agency said yesterday that the Northbelt Freeway Project would provide a northern loop around the Little Rock metropolitan area and improve local and regional traffic service.
The study is available for review at the city halls and public libraries in Sherwood, Jacksonville and North Little Rock. The department will also hold public hearings on the freeway on March 20 and 21 in Sherwood.
