JPD Arrests Suspect in Downtown Shooting

JONESBORO, AR - A suspect has been arrested in the February 25 shooting that occured behind Julio's Restaurant and private club in downtown Jonesboro.

Nicholas Newman, 20, of Jonesboro, has been charged with first degree battery in the shooting that injured two people.

Newman told detectives that he didn't know anything about the shooting, but did say that he heard shots when inside Julio's.  Police documents note that no one else inside the establishment reported hearing shots.
