Group Compiling Annual List of Endangered Historic Places

MARCH 9, 2007 - Posted at 7:20 a.m. CST

LITTLE ROCK (AP) - The Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas is compiling this year's list of the state's most Endangered Historic Places. The group began listing properties eight years ago to underscore the importance of Arkansas' historic properties to the state's heritage. Each year, the list is updated, and the group currently is accepting nominations from Arkansans and organizations around the state.

Previous listings included Johnny Cash's Boyhood Home in Dyess, the Bluff Shelter Archaeological Sites in northwest Arkansas, the Goddard Hotel in Hot Springs, and the 20th century African-American Rosenwald Schools throughout the state.
